It was a great pleasure for me to judge at the Danish Terrier Club Show held at Haarlev. I found the quality of Cairn's to be EXCELLENT! It was some 12 years ago when I last judged at the Danish Terrier club, so I was informed. I had a wonderful time judging and deciding between many of my CK winners. I was not expecting to award so many Excellents & CK's, this shows how much I was impressed with your Cairn's.
Your Cairn's have very nice heads with the correct stops, well placed ears with nice well shaped dark eyes, and 'Cairny expressions. Most had good lengths of neck and well angulated shoulders that gave them correct sound front movement. Body's are pretty well uniform, most having medium length of back with a good spring of rib. Hindquarters were well angulated without being excessive and most tail-sets were correct. Please remember tails are held at ten 10 to 2 and not 12 o'clock. I think coats were well groomed and of good quality. Movement in the majority was true both ways and it was nice to see the dogs shown free standing.
Unfortunately in the UK the breed has become poor both in show entries and quality, they need to see the quality of your Cairn's.
DOGS
My Baby puppy Jay's Joy's James Bond has all the essentials for a good future, good in type and movement, also so confident and showy for his age. The 4 Junior's gave me a headache to sort out and I'm sure they will all change places many times. Full of quality and some future stud dogs there. From this class came my Cert winner and BD3, Kajagoogoo Seglavi. I found my RCert winner in the intermediate class, this was Cairnrush Good Will Hunting who was my BD4. Open was possibly a disappointing class. My BD2 came from the good Ch class, this was DkCh Saliva's 3 Coins In The Fountain.
My Veteran winner was Int Ch Cale Hill's Viggo, he was all I wanted in a Cairn, from head to tail he just pleased me. Full of quality and in great condition, he moved around the ring with an easy fluent action. I could not ignore him and so I chose him for my Best Dog and eventual BOB. I understand I gave his mother her first Cert when I judged here 12 years ago!
BITCHES
My Junior class was again full of quality, from this class I chose Cale Hill's Bring On The Wonder as my BB4 and RCert winner. From the Intermediate class came my BB2 and Cert Winner, this was Cairnsters Lucille. In the Open class I had 4 CK winners all of even quality. My BB1 came from the Ch class, my choice being Int Ch Joy's Jay's Ella Fitzgerald, a lovely type girl and mother of the Baby puppy. My BB3 also came from this class, this was DkCh Dreamcairn's Dolce Vita.
Just one in Veteran Bitch, she was Int Ch Cale Hill's Vilhemine, she is litter sister to my BOB and shown in lovely condition.
