Dommerrapport I had the honour of judging the breed Cairn Terrier at the CACIB Dog Show held in Fredericia on 12.02.2011. The number of Cairn Terriers entered in the Show exceeded 50. I had judged this breed in Denmark several years ago too. In my opinion, the quality of this breed has remained on an enviable level, which is unfortunately not the case with numerous other terrier breeds, which have marked a decline in terms of both quantity and quality. I was very satisfied with the participating dogs since I did not encounter any dog which would not have deserved to be exhibited, i.e. which did not show the essential breed characteristics. Finally about the winners: The best opposite sex was a brindle female. That female is of very good size, typical proportions, lovely expression, correct body, typical tail carriage, in a very good show condition, showing very good movement from profile, but it could be better when seen from front and behind. The best male and the best of breed was also a brindle male. That male is of a particularly good type with a nice masculine head expression. His front is correct, his top line is compact, but appeared maybe too short due to the excess of coat. That male showed good ring behaviour and good movement in both directions. The already mentioned coat was of good quality but definitely inadequately prepared for a show.
