BIR / BOB: CARROTTAIL'S MIKKEL Dommerrapport: I enjoy judging cairn terrier anywhere in the world, but especially in the Scandinavian countries. Some of them today where a bit on the big side and some had rather big heads, when the bred standard actually mention that the head should be small in relation to the body. Temperaments were wonderful. I loved the stubbornness of a cairn waiting to do his or her thing ignoring the owners instruction and also ignoring the judge. They are a breed very confident in their own skin and most of the them have a high opinion of themselves. Today it was very very hot towards the end and the very dark brindles must have felt it more than the wheatens. Nevertheless the dark brindle bitches did well today. The best Bitch a 5,5 years very dark still performer every second she was in the ring displaying true terrier spirit. General I felt the quality was as I expected. The charming baby puppies already full of confidence, already knowing what to do. Not all coats were in top form, but that is normal in summer. It is true that the cairns I see in Denmark and Sweden have got more style and attitude than in their country of origin. I know the old fashion British breeders are against too must presentation, but it is a beauty show and none today I felt was overdone in this respect.
